MESSIANIC ACTION COMMITTEE UPDATE (excerpts from recent bulletins received from Israel)

Urgent Request on Behalf of Ethiopian Sisters   ML7

Yesterday, November 27, 2000, the three Ethiopian sisters were called into the office of the Advisor on Ethiopian Affairs (Nir Solomon) to Israel's Minister of the Interior Haim Ramon for hearing of their case. This was in response to information on the case coming from concerned organizations and individuals inside Israel and abroad. Solomon has indicated a desire to bring the matter before Minister Ramon.

At this critical stage, we urgently call to you for help, as follows:

**IF YOU ARE head of an organization whether within Israel or abroad, to direct a fax (not mail nor e-mail) to the Interior Minister, TODAY, or as quickly as you are able:

  1. thanking him for taking these initial steps
  2. hoping that he would be willing to exercise his discretion in favor of the three girls, if not for them themselves, then at least for the sake of the memory of their father, who was instrumental in assisting the Government of Israel in helping the Ethiopian Jews to emigrate to Israel in Operation Solomon
  3. hoping that he will render a decision favorably to the three sisters, granting them permanent residence, thus allowing them to remain in Israel
  4. thanking him respectfully
